These two solar projects are the largest and second-largest urban solar farms in Western Canada. Both sites are located on repurposed limited-use industrial land in Southeast Calgary, Alberta. Combined, the projects consist of over 170,000 solar panels with a generating capacity of 64 megawatts. The Barlow Solar project will feed directly into Alberta’s energy grid and will produce enough energy to power of 7,000 homes. The two projects have the potential to offset 64,000 tonnes of carbon annually.
